Heater core on a 1999 durango?

I have a 1999 dodge durango and smell antifreeze when the heater is on, but Im not loosing any antifreeze in the overflow tank or the radiator. And if it is the heater core, how hard is it to change. I know some cars you have to take out the dash. anyone here changed one?
