How long does it take for an orchid to grow back after it's been cut?

I just cut my orchid with hot scissors. I don't think I did a very good job. It wasn't an even cut and a piece "chipped" out of the stem. What should I do to care for it? By the way its a Phal Orchid and I just got it a few weeks ago, but all of the flower buds fell off. It's a just add ice orchid. Maybe it just needs some adjusting time.
