Yahoo! mail to self vanished -- where did it go ?

I had a few blank messages, with images attached in my drafts folder so I could save them and send them to myself later. when I mailed one of these messages to myself, I did not get anything. not in my inbox, not in my Spam folder. can anyone tell me where they went and if I can get them back? and, by the way, I do know about Yahoo's! Briefcase feature. shame on me for not using Briefcase, I suppose.
